Overcoming Excuses & Tracking Your Workouts
Well, I came this close to blowing off my lunchtime workout today.  "Too cold," "too windy," "I'm tired," "I'll work out later."  Whining (only in my head) like a little, er, kid who doesn't want to do something he's supposed to.  Boy, I had all the excuses going.  But, I gave myself a swift (proverbial) kick in the rear and got myself changed and out on the town lake trail.  As a result, I knocked out a 5.3 mile run at an 8:29/mi. pace and feel great (and yes, a little tired) for doing it.  It was windy and cool, but otherwise it was a gorgeous day!

I did want to share that if you are looking for an app to track your walks, runs or workouts in general, you should check out www.mapmyfitness.com.  It uses GPS to track your workouts/routes including mile splits, calories burned and pace.  I'm not trying to advertise it, but I definitely will vouch for this app--it works great, is free and really does help to keep you motivated to get your feet on the street!
