Hello everyone! I'm new at this sort of thing so be patent
Ok first of all hello out there in cyber land.  :)  Let's see i am on the second week of induction and doing pretty good I think. I started at eww do I have to say it??  OK 240 lbs. i am 5'4" so yeah.. nice picture. Now i am at 224 and about 100 more lbs to go.
I started doing this because my doctor did blood tests and told me I am just under diabetic..and cholesterol was double what it should be. So I pretty much have to.  Not to mention at 240 you can imagine all the different stuff I have tried on my own. Yeah they worked really good didn't they.

The main problem I have is at first I loose really fast and then I stop and gain it all back without stopping the diet. so I am a little  (OK A LOT) worried about that here. As far as motivation I don't really have to much problem with that. Just frustration...

Maybe I need a pep talk?

Now have you experienced this problem on Atkins' specifically or on other programs? I had the same experience on other programs, but Atkins' is different from other programs out there. I have always had success on Atkins', it was just my own personal fears that worked against me. Atkins' worked! But I was afraid that I would fail like I had on the other programs and diets I had tried, so I would sabatoge myself. I finally came to the realization that in order to change my outside, I had to change my inside, how I felt about me, at the same time. I decided that I was the best reason to look and feel good. One day about 5 or 6 days after beginning Atkins' this time, I literally "woke up" one morning. I woke up to the fact that this was right for me. I didn't look for ways to sneak in foods that I had had before. I REALLY enjoy eating the Atkins' way. I can change up my menu and find new foods that I didn't indulge in before because I was too worried about where I was gonna find my next sugar fix. I feel good. I wish you the best of luck on your new lifestyle. Here's to happy and healthy. Michelle

I'm only on my 3 rd week...so not a pro at this program ...but counting carbs seems much easier to me for some reason than calories. I lost 10 lbs in 16 days and totally jazzed about that. Working on the next 10 lb milestone of 3 to my goal. Seems like the phasing out to maintenance is key to maintain. Good luck to us all...Cheryl

Thanks for the encouragement Michelle & Cheryl I needed that! The problems where with the other diets. This is the 3rd time I have tried this one. But the first time I have gone full bore serious with it. I was told a lot of wrong info b4 when I tried Atkins And it did the same thing...... But this time i got the book and found out what I was doing wrong.... Nobody told me you had to drink water and eat veggies. Just keep it under 20 carbs is what I was told. hmmm didn't work to good. This time I hope I have it right. I think I do. It just came off so fast to start that I am a little worried. CJ
