Fight Don't Flee

I read a lot on the forums about so many who tried Atkins, lost a bunch of weight, got off of it and regained the weight back if not more. I was one of those people who tried Atkins, lost some weight and gained it back as well. I did that a bunch of times over the years. It's tough, you think you're doing great, feeling better then all of the sudden those old habits come creeping back or you get stressed out over something and run for the fridge. I know all about it to well but back in 2008 I finally figured it out and so far lost 301 lbs and so can you as long as you don't give up on yourself.

If you have fallen off several times do not worry just remember what you did wrong and correct it. The most important thing is to keep going no matter what. This is not an excuse or even a reason to give up so easily. Just keep pushing yourself until you get it right, you will learn a lot about yourself and at the same time make yourself a more stronger and wiser person.

We are all human and we do make mistakes, it's in our nature. So don't say, “Oh I messed up, guess this doesn't work for me.” or “ I just had a bad day all I want to do is eat and sleep.” You got to get up and keep fighting. Find something to fight for, your health, your well being or something that will make you stand up and realize,”Hey, I may have messed up but I'm going to keep going no matter what.” That movie Network comes to mind, if you don't know what that is, look it up on youtube.

I remember a motivational speaker I use to watch on PBS years ago, I believe his name was Les Brown. I truly like what he had to say but one thing he said has always been stuck in my mind for years. “If you can look up, you can get up.” So don't give up, just remember your mistakes, correct them and keep fighting the good fight.

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up, the most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” ~ Thomas Edison

Thank you so much for this post! You are definitely an inspiration. I have 116 pounds left to lose and I am one that did Atkins', had success, then for one reason or another went off the plan. This is my fourth and last time. I know what I want for myself and I am working for it everyday. This is my 27th day on Atkins' and it is the longest I have gone without cheating or trying to figure out how to have just a few bad carbs without going off the plan completely. This is my time and I KNOW I will succeed this time. I have already done more this time than any other. It is something you have to commit to, not for just a day or a week or even just a month. This is what taking care of yourself because you care about yourself is all about. I am worth this fight. I deserve health and well-being. I am worth doing this everyday for the rest of my life because it will make the rest of my life better when I don't have this extra weight bringing me down. Thank you again. Here's to happy and healthy. Michelle

That was THE MOST INSPIRATIONAL post I have seen on this site.Bravo. I can't get past one week without screwing it up. How can one be good all of the time? You are amazing! I go 6 days but on the 7th day, I mess up. I don't even lose anymore even while following the plan perfectly, or at least I think its perfectly. I use that (in my head anyway) as an excuse to give myself a free pass on Saturdays. Its a vicious cycle. Congratulations to you for conquering your demons. I admire you.

Thanks for the kind words, I just thought something should be said about this is issue because I've been through it, heck we all have at time or another.

@ Cheryl, thanks but let's give those medals to the ones on the front lines who are fighting for our freedom everyday. just the fact that I got my life, health back and added 30 years to my life span is enough for me. :)

@ Michelle, keep it up. I wanna see you someday on the testimonials page. :)

@ bdbobalou, I have a family member who is the exact same way, they saw me doing Atkins and thought they could skip the weekends to eat what they wanted. Unfortunately that's not the case, but keep trying you'll get it right. :)

I plan on putting some more up here later, right now I got college, full time job, the gym and looking for a second job to make ends meet. When I get the time, I'll post another one.
