Finding the Energy to go Back on Tour With Ozzy
Hello! How are you? What’s been going on? I want to hear everything!
I have been on tour with Ozzy and Black Sabbath for the past few days and just loving it! I never imagined I would be on a tour at 61, but here I am! We have been making our way across Canada and have met so many kind people. Tonight we are in Saskatoon!
So many things have changed since I toured with Ozzy in the 80’s. It has really made me realize just how much we are affected by what we eat.  I used to be exhausted all the time, and I always thought it was the tour schedule that was wearing me out, but it was really because I was stuffing my face with junk! I was binging on soda pop, French fries, and pizzas. I felt like I deserved it all after a long day, but I didn’t realize that instead of rewarding myself, I was putting my body through a punishment. My blood sugar would go up and down, and it was a cycle of eating and exhaustion that I think a lot of people don’t realize they are putting themselves through. Am I right? Has anyone else been through this?
Now we make time for proper meals and have snacks throughout the day. It makes such a difference! I’m able to do so much more. I feel alive! I’m getting up, moving around. I don’t feel weighted down into my chair like I used to after a binge.
So how about you? What have you all been doing? Preparing for Easter? What are you making for Easter dinner? I haven’t even thought about it, so I could certainly use your ideas!
All my love and support,

Yes, I have been through what you are writing about the exhaustion. I watched my carbs for years and avoided the daily consumption of bad foods. I did have my cheating moments. This past couple of years and especially this past year I got out of hand. I went from a size 6 to a size 12, working on a size 10 now. My energy - I don't have much. It's terrible and the pizza and fries and butter rolls, crescent rolls - kill your body! :) Vicki Don't have pizza and fries for Easter! ;)

Its been a bad couple of weeks, family issues especially, causing me to eat more and all the wrong foods again so my weight has gone back up. Hoping that I've got to the end of the bad now and can sort my food issues out again. I'm working all over easter, so hopefully I'll start to lose a bit of weight again because I've got a feeling we're going to be really busy. Hope your having a fantastic time, and must be lovely to spend time with your hubby again, seeing though he's been touring for a while. xxx

Hello Sharon, It's really nice talking to you. I see you on TV with the little bird and talking about Atkins. I have been on Atkins all my life. I started when I was 18 years old, off and on. Now I am 65 years young. So far I have lost 36LBS. I have 4 more to go. For Easter I plan on making a Ham not the sweet one, the one you cook in water. It's delicious. I guess I'll make cabbage to go with it. Plus I am going to make a pumpkin Pie no crust which is also very good. Well I enjoyed talking to you. Have a Happy Easter to you and your family.

Hi Sharon, here in CT I will be cooking Easter dinner for the family. Smoked ham, green beans, asparagus, carrots, mashed cauliflower and mashed potatoes for those that want potatoes. There will be shrimp cocktail, cheese and crackers for appetizers. My daughter is bringing dessert. Not sure what she will bring, but I'm sure I'll end up tasting it. Enjoy the tour and your Easter holiday.

Oh Girl, yes, have been there and done that over and over. But, No More!! This Easter am doing what I call Rib Eye Roll ups. Thin Rib-eye, roll it out, place some baby spinach and cream cheese in it. Roll it up, wrap some good tastin' bacon around it. Bake at about 350 for about 30-40 min. Voila!! Also doin the fake mash potatoes that can be made with cauliflower, my appetizers in this neck of the woods is Baken-ets and a good lo carb salsa. Baken-ets are pork rinds for those who may not have them in their area. Making Chocolate balls that are 1 gm net carb each. :). Have a great Easter, Miss Sharon. In high school one of my fav groups was Black Sabbath. my fav song of your husband's is "Perry Mason". Plez tell him that one is Awesome!! Thank you!

Great suggestions for Easter dinner, particularly the Rib Eye Roll ups! Totally off topic of food, but wanted to share... I wanted a 2nd dog for companionship to our 1st while my husband & are at work. Husband was adamantly against it. I compromised and told him he could name the dog anything he wanted, if only I could buy the companion pup. We now have 2 English Shepherds. Jaz.... and Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzy is my husband's choice of singer, entertainer, etc. A professional fundraiser by day, and an Ozzy fan after the suit & tie come off. Jaz is completely laid back. Ozzy, well, he does simulate the Ozzy of the '80's, and tends to find a bit of trouble :-). Have a blessed Easter, and stay Atkins friendly!

I can't believe you are 61 Sharon! I'm sure you hear that a lot but I never new your age before. I think what makes you look even more beautiful is your wonderful positive personality. But back to Atkins, I am just in week two of Induction. This is my second time on Atkins and so I know it works really well. This time I am detoxing better than before, totally sugar, wheat and alcohol free for 11 days. The cravings are almost non-existent... and I'm remembering that back in college I went vegetarian for a year and instantly lost all my chocolate and junk food cravings (I also lost 10 pounds without any effort to diet.) So I'm thinking I might try going vegetarian on Atkins for a while and see how it goes. Do you eat meat? I guess I kind of assumed you are vegetarian as so many in the TV industry seem to be. If you are I'd love to hear about some of your suggestions for Atkins challenges and successes when it comes to being veggie.

Hello Sharon, I loved watching both your Kelly and your Jack on dancing with the stars... You've raised some great kids. My daughter's name is Kelley Ann Osborne, you can imagine... she's followed your daughter all 27 years of her life. I didn't know about you and Ozzie when I named her, but she is a great young lady, black belt in Kempo Karate. My Kelley, George and I are headed to our first of 3 weddings this summer in 7 weeks. It's my first go at the Atkins diet. I'm a busy Mom, with full time job as a Physical Therapist, visiting people in their home. I'm 58 and have at least 35 lbs to loose. This is day 1... so I started a blog... and I'm ready to start my journey. Glad to hear that it works for you... for you truly look fabulous! And, I suspect that your life style may be as busy as mine or even more so. Peace, Patty H

Hi Sharon, At age 53 I feel you. I have lived with a hereditary heart problem all my life and have been through 4 pacemakers..Your right..and for me I really feel it. If I eat junk (which I have for the last three months), I have no energy, feel mentally exhausted, worn out, and about 10 years older! After following low carb for a few years this feeling became real apparent and now after the wake up call of standing on the scale and putting on 20 pounds I am horrified..So today I joined this vertual Atkins site, dug out on of my Atkins RTD shakes and am getting ready to devour a least until I'm back on plan. My current looming issue is the addition of a new man in my life (my husband died 6 years ago from hep C) and how I am going to work that...any ideas? Thanks for being on this site! MJ

Hi Sharon, I am just starting Atkins again after many years because I remembered it was the only thing that ever worked for me. Black Sabbath was my favorite band back in the 70s when I was in high school. I am amazed to see that you guys are still touring-great! My dad was born in Saskatoon (Buchanan then). I am looking forward to trying Atkins again. I am 54 and having that good old metabolism shut-down. Any feedback on how this works for a woman my age? Thanks, and best wishes to you, Ozzy, and your family. Marilyn

Sharon, I am 58. Just started Atkins 5 days ago, and in just these 5 days, I've realized I don't have a fanatical craving for sweetness these days! Bread isn't tempting me like it did in the past, and I don't understand how eating a lot of carbs can block the taste buds from enjoying tastes...but I swear, I can taste things in a sharper and refreshing manner than I did when I was eating carbs like I would DIE if I didn't shove it in my mouth all day long! I know it's only been 5 days, but each day I wake up and feel excited about what the day will hold for me! Big change. I'm serious! My brain feels clearer, my body feels clearer too...I actually am happy without faking it. LOL Life is good...I'm gonna be living life large...not be large in a small life!
