I've decided it's time to start eating healthier and I'm doing it with Atkins!
Welcome to my Atkins.com blog! I just started on the diet two weeks ago
and I'll be keeping you all updated on my progress here. So far I've lost
11 pounds, hooray! I wanted to start eating healthier to be there for my
growing family, so I'm glad I found Atkins to keep me on track. I've
been eating loads of vegetables and lean proteins, and am feeling fabulous!

Congratulations on the 11 pounds! Being successful doing Atkins, I found that I had to make this a lifestyle change. Started this program a little over 8 years ago, lost 55 pounds then life got in the way. Over the next few years, I regained 17 of those pesky pounds. February 6th of this year, I finally restarted again with more knowledge and the "want to". 7 months later I am down an additional 60 pounds for a total of 98! Loving this lifestyle, feel great and looking forward to losing an additional 25 to 30 pounds! Good luck to you! Lisa

You know what's nice? The fact that all though you are a very well known woman, and very successful, you are not afraid of sharing your journey with others. It only takes one person to inspire or give one person the strength and courage to do something about working towards getting their health back. To be able to watch someone start at the beginning and walk through it with you, to see it works and see all of these inspiring stories, keeps all of us going. Today is day 21 for me and I am finally able to get into my 12's again! I eat the Atkins way, I work out at the gym (and for the first time EVER in my life b/c of my instructors and classmates in my group classes) I LOVE WORKING OUT! On those days when one is having a hard day, it is nice to be able to come here and see others have those days too, and continue to push through! Welcome to the Atkins family Sharon!!! We look forward to seeing your updates!

Awesome loss!......I am starting induction today, I have had the lapband for over 4 years, low carb worked great with the band, let things go, old bad habits came back, I gained some of the weight back but now have to go in on Wed. to get all the fluid taken out of the band. I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer and will be having colon resection surgery on the 24th and will have to have a nasogastric tube so no fluid can be in the band, without the band inflated it is like not having one so I am scared. If I could gain with it what is going to happen without it. So.... I am going to get back on track and from what I hear after colon cancer surgery I will need to temporarily limit sweets, raw vegetables, dairy products, high fiber foods and fried foods.............Gee sounds a little like Atkins to me LOL!!! By the time I need to move on to a low residue diet and add fruit in I will be ahead of the game.......... So now I can say and think I am doing Atkins rather than think of it as something I need to do because I have cancer. I so look forward to being inspired by and as successful as you!!!!! Thanks for making your Atkins lifestyle public! Michele

Congratulations on your weight loss Sharon! Keep up the good work. The 1st week was a struggle for me but now it's a lot easier. I'm learning what my favorite and most satisfying meals are. My favorite meal is grilled babyback ribs (seasoned with a dry rub, then grilled) and sauteed cabbage (sauteed in butter and seasoned with a little Goya Ham Seasoning and green and red peppers). I began Induction on August 27th so it's been 3 weeks now and I've lost 15 lbs and I'm full of energy. I'm looking forward to continuing on this weight loss journey with you and all of the other Atkins members.

Great news, 11 pounds is wonderful....You will find this is not a diet but a lifestyle. This is the lifestyle of choice for many that have had weight loss surgery, such as yourself. Our bodies respond very well to the low carb life style. I recently lost all my extra weight, and yes it can be done even at 58 years old! You certainly don't look like you need to lose anymore, but it is a great way to maintain.....

Sharon...I just started three days ago. My husband died two weeks ago. I had been his primary caregiver for over two years. I really let myself go. He used to play in the NFL for ten years, and was 6'7"...a big man. He developed dementia from the concussions and his brain was harvested for NFL players research. He played back in the day when they didn't make any money. I was so worn out and heart broken, I new I had to get my act together. I look like a dumpy old widow. I am 56. I am going to loose 50 pounds or die trying. Thank you for your encouragement.

Last year I lost 150 lbs on Atkins This year I had a hysterectomy, shingles, bels palsy , walking pneumonia, Ramsay hunt disorder and shingles again! The medicine I'm on causes me to gain weight. However my fault is where I have not stayed with Atkins Reading your blog has inspired me. Thankyou. I know what I need to do!! Gwenalison xo

It is because of your commercial that I went to atkins.com. I'm turning 50 this year, and I wasn't successful on Weight Watchers....my body just didn't want to change. But I figured that if you found such success, I may just have a shot at it myself! Thank you for sharing your story - I look forward to a new me, 40lbs lighter and light years ahead in happiness and confidence.

Hey Sharon! I'm 51 and I've tryed all kinds of diets except Atkin's. I started Atkin's low carb on 2-11-13 and lost 5 lbs the first wk. I weigh on Monday's. Reading about you has really motivated me also. I started walking on the treadmill to. I'm just tired of being overweight and my clothes being to tight. I love the Atkin's bars and meals. I cook for myself but if I don't have time then I have the Atkin's meal. They are great. So I'm off to a new me without spending my money on diet pills and drs. You look GREAT!

Hello Sharon. You look amazing. I started Atkins about 3 weeks ago, but I didn't start it in my mind. That makes all the difference in the world, being in a good starting place in your mind. I got there today...for some reason, I feel like I'm ready for this. My problem is going to be the veggies. I don't like raw, I don't like lettuce, tomatoes, raw onions, peppers, cucumber, none of the ones that are really good fillers. I do like spinach, cooked and raw, so salads are an option, but I am limited to what I really like. Everyone says, oh just try them, you will eventually like them. Nope, I'm 51 and if I have to force myself to eat foods I do not like, what's the point? I really need recipes that include spinach, brocolli, cauliflower, green beans and asparagus. Hope someone can help out this picky eater.
